A “Truyen Kieu” (Tale of Kieu) chorus will be conducted at Ben Thanh Theatre on Monday evening to mark the 188th anniversary of the death of great poet Nguyen Du, the author of the Tale of Kieu. 

More than 100 actors and actresses from Suoi Viet and Thach Da choirs will join the performance which is conducted by two musicians Vu Dinh An and Nguyen Bach.

The show will also be participated by Eminent Artist Nhat Sinh, the Phuong Viet dance group and the Mat Troi Moi music band.

Two music professors Ca Le Thuan and The Bao will take part in the performance as professional advisors.

Musician Vu Dinh An is the composer of the chorus, which has been backed by the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association and the south branch of the UNESCO International Cultural Exchange Center.

Through this show, composer Vu Dinh An wants to raise funding from individuals and organizations to help handicapped children at the Thien Phuoc Handicapped Children Caring Center.

The show will start at 7:30 pm. Complimentary tickets are being distributed at the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association, 81 Tran Quoc Thao St., District 3, and at the Vuon Xoai Church, 413, Le Van Sy St., District 3.
