General Information
Vietnamese cuisine is going to be one of the world's most delicious for its lively, fresh flavour and artfully composed meals. Abundant fresh herbs and greens, delicate soups and stir-fries, and well-seasoned grilled foods served on, or with, rice or noodles are the mainstays of the Vietnamese delicacies.Quan, originally from Hanoi, has working in restaurant business and tourism for nine years. Having opened his family restaurant named ‘Old Hanoi’ for two years, he wishes to present Vietnamese culinary culture for learning enjoyment of enthusiastic people from around the world. Some simply interested for their home cooking while others are chefs wanting to enhance their menus of teachers from cooking schools.
Whatever your requirements, Quan will design a course for your needs.
Day Time Class
09.30: Meet the chef in the restaurant, the cooking program will be discussed with the group.
Take a little walk to Hang Be market which is a lovely market in the heart of the old town. You will be fascinated with every step by the color, noise and the smells of the foods.
Stroll around to visit distinct food sections with their variety of herbs, vegetables, meat and sea food which brings you very close to the simple life. It is very interesting to see and to learn how a local woman chooses and buys the best quality of the fresh food from numerous food stalls in the market.
With a rattan hand basket, your job is to buy some herbs and spices for the cooking class (Herbs and spices are a very important part of authentic Vietnamese food)
10.15: Back to restaurant for a little rest, you will enjoy Hanoi filtered coffee or jasmine tea (coffee and tea are complimentary).
Raw food bought from the market will be washed and prepared quickly in the kitchen. Cooking methods and utensils will be placed properly on each table.
Private Cooking Class
We offer two class: Morning class at 9 am and afternoon class at 3 pm
09.00: You will be pick up at your hotel and take a ciclo tour to Hang Da market (or 19/12 market) with the chef. You will be fascinated with every step by the color, noise and the smells of the foods.
